Do you have an enhanced DBS certificate?
Yes. Lindsey has an Enhanced DBS certificate, which can be provided if required.
Do you clean the K’nex?
Yes. We take hygiene very seriously. All K’nex is washed and sterilised before being checked and repackaged for our next customers.
There are many pieces in the models. Do we have to dismantle them before you collect them?
Dismantling the models is part of the service we provide, enabling us to inspect the pieces and replace any that are worn or damaged.
We break the big build models into sections when we collect them.
For the small model packs, it is helpful if they are broken down into smaller sections, making them less bulky to collect, but it isn’t essential.
Why do the small models have instructions and the big builds have guidance?
The smaller models are designed for independent use, so step-by-step instructions are provided.
The big builds are designed to be collaborative projects under the guidance of a group leader.
Please check out the Services Offered page for more details and examples.
What area do you cover?
We offer all our services with free delivery and collection within Teesside.
Our big-build workshops are available with free delivery and collection within a twenty-mile radius of Teesside. We can travel down to Northallerton, up to Newcastle, across to Barnard Castle and even paddle in the sea. But probably not all on the same day!
It may be possible to deliver our big-build workshops further afield, but an additional charge will be incurred to cover transport and, possibly, accommodation costs, depending on the distance.
When do you deliver the kits and collect the models?
All deliveries and collections for class packs, big-build models, and K’nex tray rentals take place on Monday mornings and Friday afternoons.
You can choose to rent our kits midweek (Monday morning to Friday afternoon), weekends (Friday afternoon to Monday morning), or weekly (Monday to Monday).
We will arrange the actual delivery and collection times after the booking is placed.
What happens if pieces are missing from the kit?
All kits are carefully prepared and checked for each order, ensuring that no pieces are missing. However, sometimes things get dropped, and occasionally a piece may break. We don’t want you to be frustrated if a project cannot be completed, so we provide a small bag of spare parts with each kit. The spare parts bag is clearly labelled and is provided for your peace of mind.
Do you charge for missing pieces?
Each order is subject to a £20 deposit, which is refunded once the kits have been checked. A few pieces may go missing from time to time, but if a significant amount of K’nex is not returned, the deposit will not be refunded and will be used to purchase replacement parts.
A significant amount of K’nex could be specialist pieces essential to the model which were not returned, or 10% of the weight of K’nex provided in trays.
